Audience Engagement differs from Audience Response in that ‘Engagement’ is a two way flow of ideas and ‘Response’ is an opinion to a predetermined set of ideas.
Audience Engagement is usually deployied in a service or system that gives the delegates the ability to submit ‘free text’ comment to the congress. Typically using networked laptops or tablets, like iPads, and even mobile phones.
Delegates may ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) an increasingly popular option. A play on the old ‘Bring Your Own Bottle’ (BYOB) BYOD allows you to join the party and ensure your opinion is heard while saving the congress big hire costs on equipment, after all why hire hardware when delegates have the necessary equipment with them to participate already.
