It is good to be back!
We have always tried to be a responsible company and do what we believe is right.
I am delighted to say that today we have re-established our connection with Good Energy to provide us with 100% renewable energy to our office, warehouse and EV charge points.

At the end of 2022 we moved premises, it was at the start of the energy crisis and the power companies were not taking any new business, so we had to go with the incumbent supplier and leave Good Energy behind. Now things are a bit better and our previous contract has ended so we have switched back.
The icing on the cake is that the pence per kilowatt hour is now 44% cheaper than the tariff we had to sign up to at the peak of the crisis! So its good for business and good for the planet too.
Recent analysis of our accounts has revealed that moving to a more expensive (efficient) building from a cheaper (less efficient) building has been one of the best decisions we have ever made. The net cost of rent and energy of the old building in 2019 was the same as the new building in 2024. Except in the new building we are warm and comfortable and an all round better environment in which to work. In fact I am sure we have saved £1000’s in energy bills and have kept our net building costs static for the last 5 years.
Both these real life examples show that having an ecological policy at the core of the decision making process need not negatively impact your business and it may just keep it viable.
Today we will not be abandoning our commitment to reducing our emissions and will continue to explore ways to be more efficient and work towards a net zero future.
PS. Very interestingly the company that moved into our old warehouse did so for the same reason we moved out… it was cold. The new tenant is a florist and what we saw as a problem was to them an advantage. They needed it cold to keep the flowers fresh without spending on refrigeration. Funny how things work out.. 🙂
